This past weekend, the Century 21 community in Puerto Vallarta celebrated a special day dedicated to solidarity and social commitment. Every year on this date, our members come together to take action and honor “Giving Day,” celebrated every July 28th. This initiative seeks to promote generosity and give back to our planet. The energy and collaborative spirit were evident during the cleanup of El Holy Beach in Puerto Vallarta, demonstrating the strength of our community to generate a positive impact on society.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., our volunteers, armed with trash bags and gloves, formed small groups to spread out across the area and collect the trash and debris left behind by visitors each time they visit our beautiful paradise. Among the collected trash were disposable cups, plastic bags, cigarette butts, and microplastics, among other things.

The message of awareness: If every time we go with our families or friends to enjoy our beautiful beaches, we each took responsibility for taking our trash with us, the ocean wouldn’t be washing up trash on the shore with the waves. Let’s do it!

This day is not just a date on the calendar; it has become a tradition that transcends borders. Internationally, our Century 21 community joined in this same effort every year. One group was formed with activities tailored to their places of residence, to drive significant changes that benefit their local communities. Their unity and willingness to contribute selflessly demonstrated that, when we work together, we can make a real difference in the lives of many people and in our communities, fostering a true culture of helping others and generosity.

Thanks to this active participation, the message is reinforced that, together, we can achieve positive and lasting change in global society.
